Projekt Bayern is looking for a new logo to represent our organization. Projekt Bayern is a non-profit organization in the Bavarian Village of Leavenworth, WA. The winning logo entry will win $500.

To better understand Projekt Bayern, the following is our mission statement: The purpose of Projekt Bayern is to promote the Old World Bavarian theme in the Leavenworth, Washington area, endeavoring to improve, enhance and promote the authenticity of the Bavarian theme throughout the city of Leavenworth and its surrounding region.

Logo Concepts

Projekt Bayern is looking for a dynamic logo that respresents our Bavarian-themed organization utilizing Old-World Bavarian elements, but should also have some local connection with such things as Leavenworth's architecture, landscape and localized Bavarian concepts that incorporate Leavenworth specifically.

Types of elements can possibly include Bavarian cultural concepts, certain German font styles, Bavarian specific colors of white and blue or even colors found on buildings and signs in the old central parts of Bavarian villages.

The logo should be easily legible in small formats such as letterheads and business cards. It while also able to be used in larger formats such as banners and flags, as well as the Projekt Bayern website. The winning logo should also be easily used in a black and white format. Headings and titles should not be in all capital letters.

Leavenworth has its own Design Review Board which oversees architectural and signage codes throughout town. The Leavenworth Design Review Board is a volunteer board, appointed by the mayor, for the purpose of ensuring compliance with Leavenworth's Old World Bavarian Alpine theme and sign codes. Board members volunteer their time and unique expertise in order to ensure that Leavenworth maintains and furthers its aesthetic and economic well-being through the Old World Bavarian Alpine Theme.

Contest rules

1. Anyone is welcome to submit a design.
2. Deadline: Entry must be received by February 15, 2010.
3. Entry winner may be asked to do some final changes to the winning logo.
4. Contest winner will release all artwork copyright materials to Projekt Bayern through a signed release form.
